India's IT and Software Industry Continues its Growth Curve
Here is an old post about the forecast of Software Industry Growth in India. I liked this article and thought of posting it here...will come up with more like this...
The software industry is continuously expanding in India. It is a leading destination for the IT and IT-enabled services worldwide. As per NASSCOM, the leading body for the software industry in India, the gross revenue has grown from 1.2% from 1997-1998 to 5.8% from 2008-2009.
Sydney, New South Wales, May 20, 2010 /India PRwire/ -- The IT and Software industry is a major economy player in India. Mainly based on IT software and facilities such as system integration, software experiments, custom application development and maintenance (CADM), Network and IT services and solutions; the country's IT-BPO industry expanded by 12% during fiscal year 2009, and attained aggregate returns of US$71.6 Billion. Out of the derived revenue, US$59.6 billion was directly generated by the software and services sector alone. The IT industry in India had an increase of about US$7 billion in FY 2008/2009 i.e. US$47.3 billion against US$40.9 billion in the previous FY.
Major multi-million dollar investments are expected in the Industry in the next few years for instance, a five year agreement between HCL Technologies and News Corp for administering its information centers and IT services in the UK. According to industry pundits, the deal is estimated to be at about US$200 - US$250 million. Other investment deals include the US$50 million agreement between HCL Technologies and Meggitt, a UK based security apparatus manufacture, for offering engineering facilities and the Global giant Walmart that shortlisted three Indian IT dealers for a deal worth US$600 million. NASSCOM-Deloitte study shows that the contribution of the IT/ITES industry to the GDP of India has gone up to a share of 5% in 2007 from the meager 1.2% in 1998. Revenues from the Industry have been put at US$64 billion and its growth rate stood at 33% in the FY ended 2008.
Major software and IT industry players in India include, Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro Limited, Infosys, HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra, Patni Computer Systems, i-flex solutions, MphasiS, L&T Infotech and IBM India. There are numerous software companies in the country but the above are the top companies that offer IT and software services. Software exports from India have increased and account for about 60% of India's total software revenue. This has been boosted by the domestic software market that depends on the sale of software packages and products, earning revenue for the country. About 40% of the domestic software market is made of products while more than 80% of software exports earnings are generated by services like custom software development and consultancy services. More information about the Indian IT & Software industry is available on http://www.investinindia.com.
It is expected that India's software export revenue will grow by 13-14% in the current fiscal year that began in April even though companies in the outsourcing business are expected to remain cautious on their technology spending requirements.

Sabarimala 'celestial light' man-made, admit authorities
By Indo Asian News Service | IANS – Mon, Apr 25, 2011 11:45 AM IST
Kochi, April 25 (IANS) The 'celestial light' at the Sabarimala temple on Makara Sankranthi day is actually man-made, the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) told the Kerala High Court Monday, three months after a stampede killed 102 pilgrims there.
The board, which oversees the functioning of all temples in Kerala's southern districts, said this in an affidavit to the court, putting an end to speculation on the so-called celestial light.
TDB said it had never called the phenomenon a divine light and for long the fire had been lit by tribals living on the hillock.
TDB's affidavit was filed in response to the demand made by the court that is currently looking into a series of petitions filed soon after the stampede at Sabarimala Jan 14 when the 'celestial light' had appeared three times.
Kerala Yukthivadi Sangham (KYS), a rationalist organisation, has been at the forefront of a campaign against what it calls cheating by the state government and the TDB.
Sanal Edamarukku, an office bearer of the KYS who has been fighting the practice of making an artificial light appear on the horizon and letting it pass as celestial, said finally their stand had been vindicated.
'This affidavit by the TDB has finally come and we are really happy that they spoke the truth,' said Edamarukku.
The Jan 14 stampede occurred when the pilgrims were returning after watching the 'celestial Makara Jyothi light', the most important event of a two-month pilgrimage dedicated to Lord Ayyappa, in Kerala's Pathanamthitta district.
According to believers, the sighting of the celestial light is auspicious and, over the last few years, there has been a huge influx of pilgrims from the three southern states to witness it.
The number of pilgrims visiting the shrine has been going up every year.

Dum Maro Dum - Movie Review
Saw the Movie, Dum Maro Dum yesterday Second Show @ Ramakrishna Theatre. Booked Tickets on NoMoreQueque.com (Online) - fortunately we got Top Row Middle Ceats, but theatre management gave us tickets for Top 2nd Row Middle Ceats. Again being the middle ceats there was an A/c. Problem, we were in a A/c. not reachable position, but there was a big fan as an alternative - which is making huge noice, so we switched it off for the first half and managed somehow. But immediately switched on this sounding machine as soon as we had an interval break for about 15 mins).
So my dear friends, do not book middle rows (balcony) in Ramakrishna Theatre from now on....Coming to the movie review...
With a huge Star Cast including Abhishek Bachchan, RaNa Daggupati, Aditya Pancholi, Bipasha Basu, Prateik Babbar, Deepika Padukone & Vidya Balan (in guest roles) and others, Director: Rohan Sippy teaming up with Music Director: Pritam Chakraborty, Journalist turned Screen Writer (National Award Winner): Shridhar Raghavan, Multi-talented Cinematographer (from RGV's School): Amit Roy, Art Director: Shazia Zahid Iqbal & Editor: Aarif Sheikh, has done a wonderful job.
Starting with the story/script, theme of the movie, involvement of star cast, superb photography, great music, on the top direction by Rohan Sippy! The team work which helped Dum Maro Dum to become one of the best movies in the recent times.
After a long time, Abhishek Bachan has got a powerful characterization (ACP - Vishnu Kamath) in this movie which he 100% utilized and added one more noted roles in his career. RaNa Daggupati in his very 2nd movie (debut in bollywood) proved once again with his tremendous acting skills in the role of DJ Joki in DMD. While Prateik was perfect apt to Lorry's character (a Goa Student), one can surely feel Bipasha Basu as Zoe a native Goa girl. Overall all the star cast in the movie are completely involved and made their presence.
All the technicians have done amazing job with the support of great production values that are clearly seen on screen. DMD is definitely a Trend Setting Thriller, with a kind of screenplay and dialogues in it! My Rating for Dum Maro Dum is 3.75/5.

Avunandee Movie baagaa enjoy chesinappudu, daaniki main reason aina theatre gurinchi kontha maatlaadukuntey thappemledhu annadhi naa feeling..Anyhow ee upodhgaatham aapi Mr. Perfect Movie Review gurinchi start chesthey, adhi ila vundhi....
Story & Direction: Merugaina Samaajaaniki Chaala Avasaramaina Katha/Subject inkaa chaala baga thayaaru chesukuni, pakka pakadbandhigaa plan chesaaru - Dasaradh Gaaru! Direction kooda ekkada pedda mistakes kaani pitfalls kaani kanapadakundaa jaagratha paddaru (Of course, chaalaa deepgaa aalochisthey koonni thappulu vunna, avi saamanya prekshakudu gamanichaledu). Aayana paatha cinemaallo laaney (Sambaram, Santhosam etc.,) Mr. Perfect lo kooda oka message ni entertainment tho mix chesi deliver chesaaru. Splendid Job by him, I would say tollywood need such directors and audience should really encourage such movies. Mr. Perfect is any how pakka hit kottinatte and Dasaradh deserves a major share of credit for this success.
Screenplay & Editing: Hari Gaaru Screenplay simple gaa, kadhaki thagattugaa chesthey, Marthand K Venkatesh Gaaru maathram full fledged gaa involve avvaledhemo anipinchindhi, he would have done better job.
Dialogues: Abburi Ravi Gaaru did a fantastic job, punchullanti dialogues tho paatu heart touching dialogues chaala baaga raasaru. Prabhas kooda chaala chakkagaa deliver chesaadee dialogues, adhey feel tho! Abburi Ravi is another asset for the success of the movie.
Music by Devi Sri Prasad konni chotla thappa chaala pale gaa vinipinchindhi (may be theatrelo speakers system problem anukunte adhi porapaatey, because along with BGM, Songs lo kooda antha pasa ledhu, not at least at his range)
Cinematography: Vijay K Chakravarthy Gaaru has done a Superb job, Beautiful Locations annitinee chaala chaala adbuthamgaa shoot chesaaru, this is one of the most important success factors for the movie and he did an amazing job, really too good to see the visuals on screen.
Art Director, Ravinder did a decent job while Fights by Peter Heins were little dissappointing its become more like an extension to comedy factor (ayinaa ee subject ki fights avasarm ledhanukondi - but aa comedy yedho inkaastha comedians tho pandinchuntey baagundedhani naa feeling).
Artists Performances: Prabhas already Darling tho family audience ni, youth ni thana style tho oka range-lo aakattukunnadu. Mr. Perfect tho adhi konasaaginchadamtho paatoo oka steppu paiki ekkadu - ani chebuthanu, Kajal Agarwal varusagaa ilaanti characters ye kaavadamtho (Darling, Brundhaavanam ippudu Mr. Perfect) chalaregi poyindhaney cheppukovachu. Ika pothey Prakash Raj, Nasir, Brahmi, Bharat, Raghu Babu and other supporting cast including Legendary K Viswanath, Sameer & Actor cum Director Kasi Viswanath, Murali Mohan, Tulasi, Shinde etc., are all excelled in their roles.
Over all analysis: Movie is too good for family audience and at the same time to youth in this summer, youth should learn so many things from this flick. Collections wise choosthey hit talk valla andhariki profits thecche movie avuthundee Mr. Perfect.
Team should say thanks to Dil Raju for selecting this subject and moulding it into one more best end product!
My rating for Mr. Perfect is 3.5/5

Pawan Kalyan's Teen Maar Movie Review
After a disaster, Komaram Puli - Pawan Kalyan has come up with a movie called Teen Maar (Frankly speaking this is not an apt title for the movie). But this time the movie will get all the money back invested in it, for sure.. As always Pawan Kalyan's movie Teen Maar also recorded huge openings in the first week, however when it comes to.....
Story: Faltoo in my words, I dont know why Pawan Kalyan liked the script of "Love Aaj Kal" it is not at all deserved to be remade! Sorry to be very frank - but the movie has nothing to tell people other than just how the love is aaj kal, which makes no sense - showing this concept as a correct path (Generally when the Hero is playing the character, people wants to follow him) when this is not supposed to be followed. As per my knowledge, any movie should either entertain or educate the audience, Imtiaz Ali failed to do so with this project. (Pawan might have choosen this subject because of few similarities in his real life with this super hit "LAK" - I hate PK for choosing this subject)!
Director: Jayant C Paranji, with a much needed success after a long gap got this chance! But as I mentioned these kind of subjects should not attempt in tollywood, unless they decides to change the core concept - I dont know if he has accepted this offer by thinking it as an opportunity or a chance... However, Jayant would have taken the complete ownership of the movie and made his attempt by changing the script, any how he did his role OK!
Screenplay and Dialogues: Trivikram, this guy is the key to the movie's fate - for the kind of subject he was given, he did a genuine work. He did his best with more than a dozen hit dialogues, which made Power Star fans very happy. A Script-cum-Dialogue writer can never do justice if he/she wont like/believe in the project that he/she works for. So somehow I felt that Trivikram is not completely convinced with this subject, otherwise he would have done much better job.
Music: Songs were already been appreciated by the music lovers and Visuals also made PK fans to do TeenMaar in theatres, now Mani Sharma once again did an amazing job with the BGM in TeenMaar! But only in re-recording I saw an experiment (Spot Dubbing for Pawan Kalyans' dialogues) which is a draw back in the movie. Otherwise, Mani has done a fantastic job.
Cinematography: Jayanan Vincent, has done an excellent job! Pawan Kalyan was shown in two different characters in this movie, one being a romantic Indian who lives in Capetown (Michael Velayudham) and the other being a young socialist (Arjun Palvai) with full of guts, principles and energy. For both these characters Jayanan Vincent put an extreme focus to differentiate, as there is a 30 year gap between the two stories. Especially, locations selected for Michael's role (Pawan Kalyan) were shown in a grand way. I would say, this aspect is the biggest highlights of the movie.
Other Technical Departments: Art direction by Narayana Reddy was Good, Editing by MR Varma - Bad (there were multiple useless scenes in the movie)!
Artists Performances: Power Star Pawan Kalyan is now once again proved that he is the powerful star with all kind of expertise required to make a movie block buster! With this kind of stories very few heroes can make the final product - as the best - with their performances, Pawan Kalyan is one among them and Teen Maar is the successful output. In both the roles, Pawan Kalyan excelled by putting his 100% effort. The amount of dedication and confidence he has on the subject lets him do his best in it. Exept in dances, Pawan Kalyan rocked all the way in the movie and has become the first responsible person for this hit!
Trisha was shown more beautiful, than in her past movies. Her performance in the movie is good and played another important role for the success of the movie (because of her costumes and skin show). Ali's role was brief but did justice. Paresh Rawal done a decent job, while Sonu Sood and Mukesh Rushi were confined to their roles.
Kriti Karbandha, was big minus for the movie (mainly because of her make over - it was really over makeup) there is hardly few scenes for her to perform, but failed to leverage an opportunity she got.
Overall - inspite of choosing a worst subject, mainly because of Power Star's performance, Trivikram's Punches, Mani Sharma's Melodies, Jayanan Vincent's veteran experience and others, helped Teen Maar to become a Hit with 3.25/5 as my rating.

Teen Maar Choosanu - But I am upset (Not talking about the movie review)
Saw the movie - Teen Maar in Vijaya Lakshmi Theatre @ LB Nagar...Today @ 2:30 PM.
Just reached on time to the theatre(in fact the movie already started, we missed titles) we were given P - 6&7 (seats), hurray this is the top but one row!
Oops! we realized that it was the box - more over there is no proper room space and its also very suffocative here, forget about air condition, we did not even get some air flow here! Already we lost titles - over that, I drove @ 80 speed continuously for about 10 mins (from Uppal to LB Nagar X Roads) immediately had to rush to the counter for tickets and soon after parking this is my situation.
Finally tried to involve in the movie, get into that mood after 10 mins - Pawan was totally shown in a new dimension, for a moment I got shocked that it was Power Star. Again started the same problem, suffocation - but no choice had to continue......
Movie is not boring or worse to come out from there, thats how passed the time. Interval breaklo we had some snacks (actually we did not even had our lunch, just had late breakfast and started to movie - thats an additional mistake)!
Finally liked the movie with Pawan Kalyan's superb acting skills and few other aspects in it (but unable to concentrate or analyse the movie - so cannot give the review for the teenmaar now, sorry for that). Decided to watch the movie again, hopefully this wednesday - this time I wont miss it! will come with a better review..
Sorry Once Again!
Will be back soon with the complete review!

Cricket World Cup Champions - Team India
Twenty-eight years on from the match that transformed the history of world cricket, India recaptured the crown that Kapil Dev and his men first lifted at Lord's in 1983, and this time they did so in their very own back yard. An iron-willed 97 from Gautam Gambhir was matched for intensity by the finest captain's innings since Ricky Ponting in Johannesburg eight years ago, as MS Dhoni trumped a poetic century from Mahela Jayawardene to pull off the highest run-chase ever achieved in a World Cup final.
Against a triumphant backdrop at the Wankhede Stadium, victory was sealed by six wickets with 10 balls to spare, as Dhoni - who had promoted himself to No. 5 to heap extra lashings of responsibility onto his own shoulders - rushed through the gears as the victory target drew nearer. With 15 required from 17 balls, he flicked Sri Lanka's only true threat, Lasith Malinga, through midwicket for consecutive boundaries, before smoking Nuwan Kulasekara over long-on to finish on 91 not out from 79 balls, and spark the most delirious scenes of celebration ever seen on the subcontinent.

India 277 for 4 (Gambhir 97, Dhoni 91*) beat Sri Lanka 274 for 6 (Jayawardene 103*, Sangakkara 48) by six wickets
How it happened?
Its how it started: Cricket Match of ICC World Cup 2011 Final - Toss Controversy - Match Referee could not hear call, because of this Toss Controversy occurs on the ICC World Cup 2011 Final Match between India and Sri Lanka which has just started at 2.30 PM. Sri Lanka Won the toss and elected to Bat First!
India got its first break through 1-17 (Tharanga, 6.1 ov) - Wonderful Catch by Sehwag in Zaheer Khan's Superb Bowling.
While, Zaheer Khan opened his account with three consecutive maidens and the scalp of Upul Tharanga in a peerless spell of 5-3-6-1, Harbhajan Singh managed to pick his 1st Wicket of the match on the 3rd ball of the 17th Over in the form of Dilshan - Now the Score is 2-60 (16.3).
At one point, Sri Lanka was looking safe and focussed at 122/2 (27.4) - until Yuvraj Singh breaks the 2nd best partnership of Sri Lanka "62" from Sangakkara(29)and Jayawardene(33), in the form of Sangakkara's edge catch to Dhoni just before his Half Century (at 48 of 67 Balls) - (If we observe there is not even a single extra run from Indian Players in this partnership). In addition to the sharp Indian fielding, this edge catch is a big wall to the Sri Lankan's Score Machines now!!
Jayawardene never knew, his score is 50 - it was much required for his team now!Crucial 57 Run partnership from Samaraweera(21) and Jayawardene(32)of 62 Balls stopped Sri Lankans at 4/179 (of 38.1) with a dramatic dismissal of Samaraweera (Yuvraj Singh implored Dhoni to call for a review after his appeal for the LBW).
Very next over, Zaheer Khan took his 21st Wicket of the World Cup Series. Sri Lanka lost Kapugedera's wicket. Raina took the catch - Team India is playing with full of concentration!
In the process of accelerating the score card, Jayawardene (33 Runs of 19 balls) along with his partner Kulasekara (32 runs of 30 balls) scored a total of 66 Runs Partnership off 49 Balls. Sri Lanka lost Kulasekara's wicket (Run Out by Dhoni) at 6/248 (47.6).
Jayawardene's best innings of his career brings him his 14th ODI Century - 103* of Just 88 balls and Perera's quick 22 Runs contribution of Just 9 balls (including 3-4's and a 6) helped Sri Lanka to set 275 as Target for Team India.
This was concidered as a decent Score with a kind of specialist bowlers they have in their team.
Indian Team has started proceedings to chase a 275 run mark with a solid openers:- Dashing - Sehwag and Master - Tendulkar!!
Malinga's second ball made all Indians very calm (its also just the second ball of the innings) - both at the ground and also in front of their television sets! Sehwag was declared as LBW (Out) (after a review/chance taken by him) - Sehwag dismissed at Zero (0/1, 0.2 Overs)!! He also wasted one chance of DRS.
Gambhir came at one-down to partner with Tendulkar, he knows very well that this should be a very responsible innings for him in his career (because they have to chase a decent score of 275 runs, that too against Sri Lanka). Both were playing very well until 6 Overs it was 31 runs then, with a run rate of just over 6! Sachin is at 18.
Another Big blow for Indian Team, this time we lost Sachin Tendulkar(18 Runs of 14 Balls - with 2 fours) on the very first ball of Malinga's 4th Over!
Sachin dissappointed all his fans who kept high hopes on him, that he will get us The World Cup with his 100th International Ton, perhaps he has to send Kohli at two-down to manage the situation.
Score Card is now too worse :( showing :- 31/2 at 6.1
However, Kohli along with the brilliant Gambhir added 83 more important runs to the team, but now we lost Kohli (at 35 Runs of 49 Balls with 4 fours) - simple catch to the bowler - Dilshan. Anyhow it was a decent individual and partnership contribution at a very important stage of the match!
Dhoni has to come at Yuvi's position (three down), to take a very huge responsibility! Gambhir was study, he is as cool as Dhoni :) Score Card is showing 114/3 at 21.4 decent figures....
Brilliant Partnership between Dhoni & Gautam Gambhir brings India 109 More Runs 0ff 118 Balls.
Most unfortunately Gautam Gambhir Dismissed (at 97 Runs of 122 Balls with 9 fours) - he lost his controlled game and went for a front foot shot - he was unable to judge the ball!
Wonderful Innings by Gautam Gambhir - What a superb play by him today!
Score Card is now very interestingly :) showing 223/4 at 41.2
Yuvraj Singh (man in the form) has come to partner with cool Dhoni, just 52 Runs required from 52 Balls to proudly kiss the World Cup! What a wonderful innings by Gautam Gambhir and MS Dhoni, thanks to both of them for bringing this situation!
Yuvraj knows very well that he should stay till the last run that they need and Dhoni with his super commitment decided to stick until they lift the stump!!
What a superb shot, to end the game - by Dhoni (Its a winning shot, Massive Six) - truly the best Captain's Innings in the history of World Cricket, this brings World Cup Back to India after 28 years! Sangakkara has no words, other than just congratulating the Champions!!
Dhoni 91 Runs of 79 Balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes
Yuvraj 21 Runs of 24 Balls with 2 fours (a Very Cleaver Partnership) :) Forced the Score Card to show - 277/4 with 10 more Balls still remaining.
!Celebrations Started!
