Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum & Genius Movie Reviews by Chaitanya Kumar Vummethala

After watching more than two thousand telugu movies, I have decided not to comment too much on movies. Thus this revolution of cut-shorting my reviews on telugu movies. Having said that, I would continue sharing my appreciations to the talented technicians and artists - those who add value to the industry standards.

Two among such subjects are the current topic of discussion, they are Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi's (popularly known as Krish) Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum & Omkar's Genius! Undoubtedly both the movies have amazingly creative thoughts and came out as brave attempts from the above mentioned gentlemen (two directors), of course with the support from their masters called Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry for Krish and Chinni Krishna for Omkar.

Immediately to start elaborating my views on each of these movies, separately - I have chosen the below style:

My personal view on Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum:

This movie is a brilliant thought and attempt that is excellently narrated by the director without any confusion, but he had to face few hiccups in injecting the actual intend of the theme into the common audience due to the sensitivity involved in the subject itself (about the presence of god). My perception in understanding the message in this movie is that, the meaning of the god is to help fellow human beings when they are in real need and sorrow.

Value Additions:
1) Subject, Narration and Theme
2) Music by Mani Sarma
3) Lyrics by Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry (specially Jaruguthunnadi Jagannaatakam)
4) Emotional Performances by each and every artist
5) Dialogues by Sai Madhav Burra (like Devudantey Saayam etc.,)
6) Twist in the story with a fresh idea

Pitfalls:
1) Casting mis-match (Nayanatara & Rana)
2) Lack of clarity in conclusion (at least for a common audience)

My Overall Rating for KVJ - 3.25 / 5

My personal view on Genius (Telugu Movie by Omkar):

This action packed message oriented movie is again a brilliant thought that is executed extremely well, but just failed in a single aspect of molding a good product into best! As mentioned above lot of courage is required for the makers to shape these type of movies. In the recent past, I have seen a similar movie called Josh (Naga Chaitanya's) which was never encouraged by the movie lovers (that has an amazing underlying message).

Genius not only just tells about how students are being exploited by Politicians but also how they themselves are wasting their personal lives with their false emotions, they build on specific individuals. I don't know if the movie brings smiles on the faces of producers, but Genius is undoubtedly a remarkable movie in the history of Tollywood.

Value Additions:
1) Script, Narration (Screenplay) and Theme
2) Dialogues by Paruchuri Brothers
3) Emotional Scenes during flashback episode
4) Picturization and Locations (Production Values)
5) A great Message (Vyakthi Pooja Guddigaa Cheyyoddhu)

Pitfalls:
1) Poor Casting (especially the main lead)
2) Taken too much of cinematic liberty, can be much gripping
3) Performances were never matched the script

My Overall Rating for Genius (Telugu Movie) - 3 / 5
