Ishq Movie Review by Chaitanya Kumar Vummethala

Nitin with a decade of his acting experience, have seen many flops and few hits out of his 18 Movies. On 14th June 2002, the actor's first movie Jayam (Directed by Teja) released and was proved as a huge box-office hit. His second movie Dil (Directed by VV Vinayak) was also a big hit followed by a flop movie Sambaram (but remained as a sincere attempt by the Director Dasarath) and then tasted a sensational hit Sye (Directed by SS Rajamouli) which has helped in proving himself as a bankable star.

But unfortunately there was not even a single HIT for him after SS Rajamouli's Sye (which was released on 23rd September 2004 i.e., almost 7 and a half years back), though his immediate movie Sri Anjaneyam (Directed by Krishna Vamsi) brought him some recognition as a good actor the movie failed to collect monies. The next 12 Movies of Nitin were also resulted as "Flop to Above Average Movies". This time Nitin chose to come up with a wonderful team as a lead actor in "ISHQ - a Smashing Hit" after 13 movies long wait. His hard work and sincerity paid off with this flick!

Now let us see what made this movie a biggest hit in Nitin's career?

Story, Screenplay & Direction: Vikram K Kumar, a 5 movie director (in telugu, tamil, hindi) will now become very popular and one of the demanded directors in the industry with this much deserving hit movie for Nitin. Story selection in these days is vital for a movie to taste the success and Vikram has taken a very good care in this area and I would say Direction & Screenplay are not only the biggest strengths for the success of this movie but one can clearly see the talented director's marvelous screenplay writing skills in Ishq. Direction department, though considered to be as the key area for any movie - it is Director's ability to extract the talent from all the 24 crafts and utilize such skills from every department.

With ISHQ, I can see a potential director in Vikram Kumar and wish him a long run in tollywood with such beautiful love stories along with other genre movies.

Dialogues: Ramesh Samala did a decent job in provide subtle dialogue to all the characters in the movie.

Music: Anoop Rubens & Aravind Shankar duo mastered in their job and gave a blockbuster music album in the recent past. Background score was also very much apt to the movie and has stood as one of the strongest pillar for the successful movie.

Editing: Sreekar Prasad's job was wonderful, as there are no useless scenes at all in the entire movie - great job by the editor!

Cinematography: The National Award Winner PC Sreeram (PC Sir) - is certainly a value addition to this movie (of that matter for any movie), also as we know that his directorial venture Kurruthipunal(1995) was selected as India's official entry to the Oscars reminds us his excellent directorial skills as well apart from Cinematography. The experienced and talented technician took the telugu movie to the next level with Ishq (though he canned few other telugu movies in the past - including Pawan Kalyan's Kushi) by utilizing the advantages of the latest technology and updated equipment in his department.

Nitin should owe to
PC Sir for not only giving him such a beautiful movie in his career but also for pulling the repeat audience again and again to the theatres (for his fantastic work). Ishq gives a fabulous visual treat to all kind of movie lovers due to PC Sreeram's excellent work (especially in songs picturization).

Art: Rajiv Nayar - appreciable work

Stunts: Vijay managed to showcase the lead actor as a stylish fighter rather than that of a mass hero, this has really helped the movie in synchronizing with the actual theme. Genuinely appreciable work by Vijay.

Producers: Vikram Goud & Sudhakar Reddy have shown a great interest on the project and thus the movie came out with brilliant production values.

Artists Performances:
Cast: Nitin, Nithya Menon, Ajay, Sindhu Tholani, Nagineedu, Ali, Ravi Prakash, Sudha, Rohini, Satya Krishnan, Srinivasa Reddy, Tagubotu Ramesh, Duvvasi Mohan, Supreet,
 etc

With his decade of acting experience, Nitin proved to be a performer and excelled all the way, Nithya Menon (a short lady) being his co-star - at places the lead actor looks like the Mahesh Babu (credit goes to PC Sir) and during the first half his energy levels and body language reminds us Pawan Kalyan (may be due to his personal craze towards Power Star). Both the points have added value to the movie and helped him in increasing his fan-base. Nithya Menon was beautiful and as usual exceeded the expectations, she was never seen like a budding star - rather performed as a versatile actress. The chemistry between the lead pair is fabulous and thus increases the demand to make many more movies on the same combination.

Ajay, Nagineedu both have out performed as supporting artists and challenged each other with their acting skills. Sindhu was good as heroes sister, Satya Krishnan was amazing as Ajay wife & Rohini's small role is a certain plus to the movie. Sudha was as usual did justice to her role. Ali's comedy scenes were canned extremely well and other supporting cast entertained well with their presence.

Overall Analysis:
First Half was pretty different and entertained very well (youth would love to prefer this pattern of movies and enjoys extremely well), this part of the movie has only romantic entertainment sequences which will certainly attract almost all kind of audience. The interval scene was brilliantly narrated with a gripping control on the subject, but the Second Half was pretty normal with a predictable story line and narration was also not so different. The movie has many positives leaving very few negative points.

Positives include - casting, cinematography, music, story and direction while the single negative point is the lack of gripping narration in the 2nd half.

Director would have opted out few useless scenes (such as actors consuming alcohol and smoking very frequently in the movie)

Youthful romantic entertainer with melodious music and brilliant cinematography mixed with a beautiful love story - 3.25/5 is my rating for Nitin's Ishq.....
