Eega-Julayi-Devudu Chesina Manushulu-July Releases

First post of my 29th year is on "July month movie releases", lets see if my birth month gets a super success for all the three big movie makers...

Co-incidentally, all the three movies are directed by tollywood big & sharp directors (who have already proved their caliber with their previous projects), lets discuss about these 3 movies now:

To start with, SS Rajamouli's "Eega" - Releasing on 6th July 2012 - which has an only drawback, that is a wafer thin story line (already revealed through the trailer) with a graphical treat (that has actually taken a very long time to complete the production work). Positives of this movie include, reputed director and his creative ability in shaping the project, beautiful Samantha as a full length heroine etc., Finally the movie is getting released in multiple languages all over the world is a great benefit for the makers. With this project, one can estimate the range of this director.. Wait for another 2 days from now!!

Tollywood Hungama this Summer (2012)

This year would be the biggest summer (in terms of making business) for Tollywood! With movies like Ram Charan's Racha, NTR Jr.'s Dhammu, Pawan Kalyan's Gabbar Singh & Rajamouli's Eega geared-up for release, industry will surely make a big money this summer (by the end of June).

Each of these four projects have been made with extreme care by the entire cast and crew (especially the lead actors/directors) of the respective projects for the following reasons: -

Summer 2012 - Telugu Cinema Releases

Starting from early to late summer 2012 (i.e., March 2nd half to June end) there are about one and a half dozen promising telugu movie releases in the list. But what is the sequence and how are the release dates inter-connected is the biggest question to the common audience.

Racha which was planned for late Feb 2012 release is postponed to March (initially) and now moved to April releases (This calendar date may further move to May, if the makers are intended to release the movie with all the songs, due to the fact that Charan is now fracture injured).

Same is the case with proposed Sankranthi release movie, Adhinayakudu (which is struggling to release)!!

If all goes well then the most probable summer releases are:

March 2012
Nuvva Nena
Ee Rojullo
Lovely
Naa Ishtam
Facebook
Neeku Naaku Dash Dash

April 2012
Adhinayakudu
Racha
Dhammu

Eega

May 2012
Dharuvu
Gabbar Singh
Uu Kodathara Ulikki Padathara
Yeto Vellipoindi Manasu

June 2012

Pawan Kalyan's Panjaa is releasing Tomorrow!

Pawan Kalyan’s Panjaa went for censor on last saturday and regional censor board members have asked the produced for few cuts in the movie as there was some violence shown and they’ve given it U/A certificate after cuts.

The original duration of the movie was bout 180 minutes and it got reduced by few minutes (about 25 minutes). But producers and director felt that, movie will lose its narrative grip if cuts are made. So they agreed to go for “A” certificate without making any changes to the movie. Prints are being made since last night and already USA prints have been dispatched.

Panjaa is releasing in record number of theatres in Andhra Pradesh, neighbouring states and in many countries across the globe. With audio becoming a success and positive talk from censor committee, fans are 100% sure of a big hit this time. Panjaa will have its preview/benefit shows in few centers of AP on 9th morning and also in USA (8th night).

Watchout this space for early movie review (Kudhirithey Live Updates) on 9th morning…(i.e., tomorrow morning):

Expectations and Assumptions on Pawan Kalyan's Panjaa

With over fifteen years (15 Movies) of experience in the film industry, “Power Star” Pawan Kalyan is now arriving with his Panjaa (with minimal promotional activities from its makers) bringing huge expectations with in the movie lovers (especially in megafans).

I have my own set of assumptions and expectations on the outcome and collections of this movie! Just for comparison, let us choose the recent blockbuster of the industry “Mahesh Babu’s - Dookudu” - it has many similarities with Pawan Kalyan’s Panjaa. Both the celebrities have 16 Movies each in their kitty who were waiting to break all the existing box-office records from a long time. Though Mahesh with his last movie Khaleja (in combination with Jalsa Director – Trivikram) failed to achieve this target, has never failed to miss it with his 16th movie – Dookudu. While Timing, Teamwork and Subject are the key elements of the success – Mahesh’s factor equals all these factors which helped the movie to become super success.

Same is the case with Panjaa (Pawan Kalyan who failed to break the records with his last two movies - Puli and TeenMaar) is pretty confident this time. With excellent teamwork, timing and subject coupled with Pawan’s presence in his 16th Movie should prove the power star’s star power once again in a much bigger way! Not only the number game, it’s the peak level of his career and is also the crucial and must win situation for the star to prove his mettle in the industry (for which Pawan Kalyan did everything that he has to do). The movie has all the commercial aspects (specifically, Pawan mark – fights, comedy and dialogues) and is hitting maximum number of screens (as many as 1800) on the 9th of December 2011, having advance bookings already opened in few centers.

As always (for Pawan Kalyan's Movie) before its release only, almost 50% of the tickets will be sold for the first three days and would collect nothing less than 20+ Crores, the movie has already made a business of around 50 Crores (through distribution, satellite and music rights) is all set to recreate the history by creating sensation – first day collections for the movie will not be less than 15 Crores (including advance bookings) and in the long run - by the third weekend it will reach 100+ Crores, and I am damn sure (after watching the making videos and trailers), Panjaa will certainly attract every segment of audience to the theatres for multiple times at least for the first few weeks and by 25th December – the movie collects 100+ Crores (apart from pre-release business, which will be a rare feet in the history of telugu cinema).

I have mentioned about the collections of the movie, since that is the only factor which can be used for measuring the power of the star in the current generation (at least in the business point of view). By changing his attitude towards a commercial movie, Pawan is now entertaining media to approach him for various interviews. Recently – Pawan also encouraged the makers of Panjaa in making a special interview on him! Just the highlights (less than 3 mins) of this interview got a huge response from the Power Star’s Fans and are now eagerly waiting for the blast! If this is the changed style of Pawan Kalyan, then one can expect the level of his dedication and efforts that he would have put for the movie (as per the demand from audience, unlike in his past movies).

Let’s quickly look at the flash back of Pawan Kalyan's career (in the table below) and my views and ratings for each of his projects and performances in it. For each and every movie of his, he puts lot of efforts and dedication but the only mistake he used to commit (until TeenMaar) was the selection of the subject and his characterization in the movie. But as mentioned above, the changed Pawan has also changed his style of selection of the subjects (as needed for a commercial movie) which will never let him down from now on!

Pawan Kalyan's Panjaa, a sure shot blockbuster

Pawan Kalyan's Panjaa is hitting screens worldwide on 9th December 2011 as a sure shot blockbuster this time. Just watched few making videos and other trailers of Panjaa, it has every ingredient to entertain the audience and register as a blockbuster hit of the decade. Producers of the movie just started the promotion work and would have to do this for a long time now! After so many days - tollywood will witness a 25 week (175 days) movie in the form of Panjaa - Pawan Kalyan, Vishnu Vardhan and his entire team are pretty confident on the outcome, just need to wait another 4 days.

Congratulations to the makers of Panjaa, for making the most powerful movie with Power Star Pawan Kalyan!
