Makers of Dookudu have taken enough care on choosing the subject, cast and technical crew along with selecting a brilliant time-slot for its release (on 23^rd September, 2011 – during a long vacation and holiday season) with highest number of prints (1400+). 

There were only 2 decent size movies released (Kandireega & Dhada) on 12^th August 2011 in tollywood, i.e., almost 6 weeks before Dookudu’s release date, out of which one was a major dud. Also there was enough gap of over 7 weeks before these two releases - where there was not even a single major movie released with expectations, after Badrinath and 180 (they were released on 10^th and 24^th of June 2011) these two were also duds.
